How to Apply Semi-Permanent Hair Colour
DRY APPLICATION
Apply to dry hair for longer lasting reflect. Make sure the hair is not coated with styling products or oily. Pre-shampoo the hair then blast dry prior to Lust application.
WET/DAMP APPLICATION
Apply to shampooed, towel dried hair. This will allow for faster fade of Lust colour to enable change of reflect sooner.
APPLICATIONÂ PROCESS
- Apply to pre-lightened hair.
- Wear gloves to apply Lust colour.
- Select desired Lust shade and pour directly into colour bowl and apply with brush or comb to ensure even coverage.
- Do not mix with developer.
- Take care to thoroughly cover/saturate and work Lust colour into the hair (comb through on long hair).
- Covering with a plastic processing cap is optional to contain Lust colours.
- Process for a minimum of 30 minutes without heat.
- Rinse thoroughly (do not shampoo) and condition if necessary.
How to Remove Semi-Permanent Hair Colour (Professional)
To be performed by a professional hairdresser only. When removing Lust reflect from the hair use one of the following options: Â Â Â Â
Bleach Cleanse
1pt (10g) Bleach
1pt (10g) Warm Water
1pt (10g) Shampoo                OR
Shampoo Bleach
1pt (10g) Bleach
1pt (10g) 10 Vol Developer
1pt (10g) shampoo
Apply to damp or dry hair. Work through hair. Process visually up to 30 minutes. Rinse / shampoo and condition. Tone if necessary.
Underlying Pigment
Consider the underlying pigment/undertones in the hair when lightening prior to Lust application. The chart below shows the recommended undertone required for Lust shades.
Colour Longevity
Colour will last from 3-30 days depending on the porosity of the hair prior to application, reflect chosen, application (wet or dry) and processing time.
Lightening
Prior to Lust application use the correct developer to achieve desired lift required. Do not lighten hair past desired depth and undertone as the hair will become extremely porous allowing Lust colour to fade faster.
At Home Application
Careful application is important to avoid staining porous bathroom surfaces.
How to Care for Semi-Permanent Hair Colour
Do not shampoo after Lust application for a minimum of 24 hours to avoid colour fading.
Use professional brand shampoo and conditioner to avoid colour being stripped from the hair.
Use dark towels to avoid staining
When shampooing, you will notice the water will be coloured when rinsing due to semi permanent colour slowly releasing from the hair.

Primary colours make secondary colours when mixed.
Red + Blue = Violet.
Blue + Yellow = Green.
Yellow + Red = Orange.
Counteracting Colours
Red + Green = Neutral.
